I’m Dominic Plouffe — an entrepreneur and CTO. I’ve had multiple exits, including FuseTalk, 360pi, and DeadHeat (horse racing betting algorithms + systems). Today I’m the CTO of Trellis.
I’m a data nerd who’s lived in data science and big data for my entire career. My specialty is Retail and PPC analytics, but I’ve also spent a lot of time thinking about sports analytics, betting systems, and financial trading algorithms — domains where the cost of being wrong is real.
Right now I’m focused on one problem I think is bigger than most people admit: how to make big data and agents work well together.
LLMs are great at writing text. They’re great at summarizing. They’re great at generating code. But they’re not naturally great at processing large datasets reliably — and hallucinations become a serious problem the minute you connect models to real decisions.
The marriage of big data and LLMs is my current obsession: systems where agents can touch real data safely, explain what they did, and earn trust over time.
